Christmas Celebration
To celebrate the birth of Christ this year, the PLCC once again held a Christmas party on the 24th of December with and for the girls. After this traditional gathering, unfortunately, had to be canceled the last two years due to Corona, we were even more pleased this year that it could take place. A total of 123 children came to the celebration, as well as the PLCC staff and the close circle of the KELC. We would have liked to have had a larger celebration, but we did not want to take any unnecessary risks due to the Omikron situation.
In addition to the traditional holy devotion and reunion, there were other occasions for celebration that we would like to share with you: first, seven of the PLCC girls were confirmed. The devotion, as well as the confirmation, was given by Bishop Meliyio of KELC. Secondly, to our great joy, we were already able to use the multipurpose hall, although the project is not yet fully completed.
In addition, three former PLCC girls, respectively women in the meantime, reported about their new employment and shared news about their life and their time in the PLCC with those present.
At the end of the celebration, there was a cake for all the children of PLCC. After the many setbacks by Corona and the unforeseen events surrounding Pangani House, this celebration was a happy and blessed day and brought us all closer together as a PLCC family. We thank God for this December 24 full of memories, new occasions of joy, and hope for the new year.
