Keeping a child away from the street

Veronicah Awino joining St Brigid’s Girls High School

Veronicah takes the next step towards a bright future.

We read about her in the last news letter; that she was one of the two girls, who after completion of their primary education, did not have a home where to go to, as they awaited for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination results to be released. All the rest went to their parents/ guardians but Veronicah and Monicah remained with us at the centre.

Came 29th December 2014, the result was out and Veronicah emerged one of the best three in their school and she was called to join St. Brigid's High School, one of the leading national schools in the country. The school is on the western side of the country, about 750km away from Nairobi. On the reporting day, she was escorted by PLCC staff members, Bosire and Susan (teacher and social worker) respectively.

A recent visit to the school found her already settled and doing well. We wish her all the best in her four years of study in the school.
